AMERICA FIRST: Time to RESTORE 'Washington's Birthday' and END the Leftist Erasure of Our Greatest President

While millions of Americans gear up to celebrate what they think is "Presidents Day" this February 16th, they're actually participating in a decades-long campaign to erase George Washington from our national consciousness. The federal holiday is legally called "Washington's Birthday" – not "Presidents Day" – yet the administrative state and woke corporations have systematically stripped our greatest president of his rightful honor.

This is exactly the kind of deep-state cultural manipulation that President Trump's America First agenda is designed to combat. As we approach America's 250th anniversary in 2026, there's never been a better time to restore Washington to his proper place in our national celebrations.

The truth is simple: Congress never changed the name to "Presidents Day." Federal law still designates February's third Monday as "Washington's Birthday," honoring the man who literally created the presidency and voluntarily gave up power – something that shocked the world and established America as a constitutional republic rather than another monarchy.

The Left's War on American Heroes

But leftists hate exceptional American leaders who represent traditional values, constitutional principles, and national greatness. They'd rather we celebrate a generic "Presidents Day" that lumps Washington together with failures like Jimmy Carter or even puts him on equal footing with their beloved Barack Obama.

This erasure isn't accidental – it's part of the same anti-American agenda that tears down Washington statues, renames Washington schools, and teaches our children that our founders were just racist slave owners rather than the brilliant patriots who created the freest nation in human history.

"Washington's precedent of peaceful transfer of power literally saved our republic from becoming another failed European-style tyranny," noted one constitutional scholar. "Erasing his specific honor is erasing American exceptionalism itself."

President Trump understands that cultural battles matter. His administration's focus on restoring American greatness should include legislation explicitly requiring federal agencies and institutions to use the proper "Washington's Birthday" designation.

Real Americans know the difference between a president who founded our nation and politicians who've spent decades trying to fundamentally transform it. Isn't it time we started acting like it?

Washington literally warned us about political parties tearing the nation apart in his farewell address. We need to get back to teaching real history instead of this revisionist garbage they're pushing in schools.

As an educator, I completely agree. His farewell address should be required reading in every civics class.

This is exactly the kind of cultural erosion we need to fight back against. It starts with seemingly small things like changing holiday names, then before you know it they're tearing down statues and rewriting textbooks completely.

FINALLY someone said it! I've been telling my kids about Washington's Birthday for years and explaining why it matters more than this generic 'Presidents Day' nonsense. Our founding father deserves his own day of recognition.

Same here! We make it a point to read about Washington's life and the crossing of the Delaware every February 22nd.

Absolutely right! Without Washington we wouldn't have a country at all.

I remember when it was actually called Washington's Birthday when I was growing up in the 70s. When did we let them change it to this watered-down Presidents Day that lumps everyone together?
