The Department of Homeland Security entered a partial shutdown Monday after congressional Democrats predictably destroyed what had been a bipartisan funding deal, all because they couldn't stomach real immigration enforcement measures.
This manufactured crisis comes at the worst possible time for America's security, as President Trump's mass deportation operations are hitting their stride and the administration is finally getting serious about securing our southern border. But that's exactly why the left is pulling this stunt – they'd rather shut down the government than allow Trump to protect American citizens.
Same Old Democrat Playbook
Patriots, we've seen this movie before. Every time Republicans try to implement actual border security measures, Democrats suddenly discover they have "principles" about government spending. Where were these fiscal hawks during the Biden regime's $6 trillion spending sprees?
The timing is no coincidence. With Secretary Kristi Noem leading DHS and working hand-in-hand with the Trump administration to complete the border wall and remove criminal aliens, Democrats are desperate to throw sand in the gears of progress.
"This is typical Democrat obstructionism," one GOP source told reporters. "They'll fund billions for Ukraine but won't protect our own border."
What's particularly infuriating is that this WAS a bipartisan deal until the radical left got their marching orders from their donor class. Apparently, George Soros and the open-borders lobby made some phone calls, and suddenly Democrats remembered they hate American sovereignty.
Americans Pay the Price
While politicians play games in Washington, it's everyday Americans who suffer. Border Patrol agents may face delayed paychecks. Immigration courts could see backlogs grow even longer. And the criminals and cartels? They're probably celebrating this Democrat gift.
