LeBron James is at it again, folks. The self-proclaimed "King" who turned his 2010 free agency decision into a primetime spectacle called "The Decision" apparently believes his basketball prowess makes him qualified to issue royal decrees on everything from domestic politics to Middle East foreign policy.
The latest political sermon from His Royal Highness comes as President Trump's administration works to strengthen America's relationship with our strongest Middle East ally, Israel. But leave it to LeBron to insert himself into complex geopolitical situations he clearly doesn't understand.
Remember, this is the same guy who promised he would "never shut up" about political issues after conservatives told him to "shut up and dribble." Well, mission accomplished, LeBron. You've proven that having a multi-million dollar Nike contract doesn't automatically grant you foreign policy expertise.
The King of Hypocrisy
What's particularly rich about LeBron's latest political posturing is his selective outrage. Where was his moral authority when it came to China's treatment of the Uyghurs? Crickets. But when it comes to virtue signaling on issues that align with his woke Hollywood friends, suddenly he's got plenty to say.
"Athletes should stick to sports when their politics don't align with the liberal establishment, but become brave activists when they toe the progressive line," one social media user pointed out.
This is exactly the kind of celebrity activism that drove millions of Americans to vote for Trump twice. We're tired of being lectured by millionaire athletes who live in gated communities while telling the rest of us how to think about complex issues they've never seriously studied.
President Trump has consistently delivered results for America and our allies, including historic peace deals in the Middle East through the Abraham Accords. Meanwhile, LeBron's biggest diplomatic achievement was... losing to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011?
Maybe it's time for the "King" to focus on what he actually knows – bouncing a ball – and leave foreign policy to the adults in the room. What do you think, Patriots? Are you as tired of celebrity political lectures as the rest of America?
