The chickens are finally coming home to roost for Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), the 87-year-old Democrat swamp creature who has clung to power for an astounding 35 years in Congress and 50 years as an elected official. Waters is now facing a primary challenge from nonprofit executive Myla Rahman, 53, in what could spell the end of one of the left's most unhinged Trump derangement syndrome sufferers.
After decades of enriching herself while her Los Angeles district crumbled around her, Waters is discovering that even Democrat voters are growing tired of geriatric politicians who treat congressional seats like lifetime appointments. The woman who famously shrieked "Impeach 45!" at every opportunity during Trump's first term is now learning what real accountability looks like.
Waters' challenger, Rahman, represents a new generation of Democrats who apparently believe 87 years old might be a tad too ancient to effectively represent constituents in 2026. While we disagree with Rahman's likely liberal politics, at least she wasn't around during the Carter administration like Waters was when she first slithered into elected office in 1976.
The Swamp Creature's Lengthy Reign
For half a century, Waters has been the poster child for everything wrong with career politicians. She's watched her district struggle with homelessness, crime, and economic decay while she built a comfortable nest egg and became one of the wealthiest members of Congress. Her husband's bank conveniently received federal bailout money, but hey, that's just a coincidence, right?
During Trump's presidency, Waters became the face of Democrat hysteria, leading chants to impeach Trump before he'd even implemented a single policy. She encouraged harassment of Trump administration officials, telling supporters to "push back" and "create a crowd" wherever they saw cabinet members.
Now, as President Trump begins his second term focused on Making America Great Again, Waters finds herself fighting for her political life against someone who wasn't even born when Waters first tasted power.
Will California Democrats finally retire this relic of the swamp, or will they reward another half-decade of failed leadership? Either way, watching establishment Democrats eat their own is always entertaining.
